Hello –
Jim “Murph” Murphy here, proud founder & CEO of a twenty-year-old company. Twenty years. Two decades. Half of my lifetime (at least if I’m rounding down). That’s a big achievement for our team and as we kick-off our 20th-anniversary celebration, I want to thank you because it wouldn’t have been possible without our clients, brothers & sisters in uniform, friends, and family.
If you’re familiar with the Afterburner story, you know that the idea came to me as I sat in the cockpit of an F-15 fighter jet, marveling at my journey from copier salesman to U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in a matter of months. But it wasn’t my ability to grasp complicated concepts or out-maneuver the competition, it was the U.S. military’s ability to cultivate a singleness-of-mind around strategic action, aligning hundreds of thousands of individuals around a single objective in the most challenging environments known to man. The magnitude of that effort inspired me to translate and codify these techniques into a market-ready solution for civilian organizations. The result was Flawless Execution.
When we started in 1996, the value of military processes in business was largely unrealized but that’s all changed. Terry Deitz and Jim Murphy working with the NY GiantsIn the last 20 years, thousands of innovative organizations have chosen us to support their pursuits of Flawless Execution, opening their minds and operations to the principles of elite military teams in business. These opportunities have enabled unique connections with millions of leaders and professionals whose experiences, knowledge and perspectives have helped to shape who we are as an organization and how we evolve to meet our clients’ needs in complex markets.
As part of that evolution and in celebration of this achievement, we have a number of exciting initiatives we will announce this year. We’ll introduce a number of new programs, including keynotes and an accredited training curriculum, digital learning options and a few more initiatives we’ll announce later.
As a stakeholder in our past, current and future successes, we invite you to join us as we celebrate. From the entire Afterburner team, thank you for your continued support. We’re standing by to return the favor.
Happy hunting!
Murph
