Transform the art of strategy into the science of execution.
You don’t have a strategy problem. You have an execution problem. Collectively, you have great ideas, invested in innovation, and intellectualized the perfect strategic road map, but where’s the impact? Execution gaps crush more strategies than bad planning ever will. Flawless Execution℠ Coaching is a team coaching program for executive or operational leaders committed to delivering exceptional results.
A short call with one of our pilots. We explore your current initiatives, your team dynamics, and the result you are chasing. No pitch, no obligation.

Leadership teams rarely fail because the strategy was wrong. They’re lost in the gap between strategic intention and daily results-driven execution. Strategy gets set in the room, or maybe in your head. Execution happens everywhere else, across people, weeks, and competing priorities, and that is where it quietly comes apart.
The pattern repeats. Priorities multiply. Ownership blurs. The initiative slips a quarter, then another, and the team ends up busy without moving the number that mattered. Your days become highly reactive and chaotic, filled with back-to-back meetings, as you try to figure out where you are and what’s gone wrong.
For the executive who owns the numbers, the cost is concrete. A stalled initiative burns payroll and pushes the result you committed to the board into next year. Worse, every repeated mistake erodes the team’s belief that the next plan is worth backing. Worse still, the company decides AI can do it better and you’re out of a job.
That gap is not a motivation problem or a talent problem. It is a system problem that compounds every time a team clocks in without one.

The coaching is the mission
Flawless Execution℠ Coaching runs as six working sessions over 12 weeks. We’ll coach a leadership team of 5 to 15 people on a real initiative you’re already running. The coaching does not pull your team off the work to study a framework; it doesn’t add time to your schedule; it runs on the work. Every session moves the initiative forward while the team builds the system that gets it across the line.
That system is FLEX℠ (FLawless EXecution), engineered in the fighter pilot community and built on the same decision loop fighter aviation has refined for decades. It runs as one continuous cycle: Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief. It does not replace how your team operates. It installs into it.
The team commits to a clear, measurable destination and surfaces the threats that could derail it before launch, not after. Plans align to monthly, weekly, and daily “must win” objectives.
Everyone leaves the room holding the same plan. A brief is measured by what the team understood, not by what was said. We’ll replace hours-long meetings with 15-minute briefs.
The team runs the plan and adapts in real time, because no plan meets reality unchanged. We coach leaders to preserve thinking and personal execution time and avoid getting dragged into the weeds of team execution.
The team converts each result into a lesson, so mistakes happen once and wins repeat. The debrief becomes the cognitive model that powers the business, driving incremental improvements and growth, not just of the leaders, but the teams they lead and the organization they run.
The debrief that compounds
The debrief is where most teams leave their biggest gains on the table. FLEX uses a four-step framework called ORCA: Objective, Result, Cause, Action, to turn each execution cycle into compounding capability. Every review closes on a High Note, so the team leaves energized to improve rather than deflated.
What makes it work is one cultural rule: Nameless and Rankless. Hierarchy stays at the door. The most junior person can name the cause that the most senior person missed, and the team is stronger for it. Without that rule, sessions slide into blame and lessons vanish. With it, honesty becomes the default, and performance compounds.
From one mission to a repeatable system
A single debrief is a microscope; it shows what happened on one mission. X-GAP (Execution Gap) is the telescope, it is the practice and process that replaces your meetings. It looks across missions to surface the patterns a single review cannot see: whether tactics are working, whether the team is genuinely improving, whether the strategy itself needs to change. In coaching, X-GAP is where your initiative stops being a one-time push and becomes a capability the team keeps.
How the 12 weeks run
Kicking off with our small teams program, your team works on its real initiative throughout, and each session sharpens the plan, the brief, and the next round of execution. Delivery is hybrid: in person when the work requires a room, virtual when it does not. Between sessions, the team executes and captures what happened, so every session opens with real evidence instead of a status update. By the final session, the system is not something the team studied. It is how they already work.
This is what execution discipline is worth
Commonwealth Bank engaged Afterburner℠ against an escalating enterprise technology budget. By rolling out the Flawless Execution methodology and instituting strict debrief protocols for major incidents, CBA cut its technology run cost from $3.6B to $2.4B, a 33% reduction that yielded $1.2B in savings.
VMware faced post-acquisition misalignment across its global business units. By rolling out the Flawless Execution methodology to 330 senior executives and scaling it through its Flex Champions program, VMware established a global operating rhythm of rolling 90-day plans and monthly reviews. Over the first three years of the partnership, its share price nearly doubled, from $78.90 to $153.21.
When VMware’s strategic alliance with IBM was underperforming, the same approach re-established joint accountability across both field organizations and synced their roadmaps. Within three months, the partnership reached 117% of its $300M revenue plan, with a pipeline built to deliver 150% of the goal.
“It was gratifying to see that everything that we said we were going to do, we did, and ultimately the mission was accomplished.”
Lance Reed, President, DSI
What changes by the end
By the close of the engagement, your team runs from a shared execution playbook, gaps surface while you can still act on them, and the debrief is a habit, not a meeting. The initiative you started has measurably progressed because the coaching was applied to it throughout. The capability stays because the team built it on their own work. No coach required to keep it running.

Frequently asked questions
Why do good strategic initiatives still fail to launch?
Most initiatives fail in the gap between deciding the plan and running it, not in the planning. Less than 50% of training is applied on the job (LEADx), and strategy behaves the same way. Flawless Execution Coaching closes that gap by running the FLEX cycle live on your initiative.
What is the FLEX methodology and how does the coaching use it?
FLEX (FLawless EXecution) is a four-phase cycle: Plan, Brief, Execute, Debrief. The coaching teaches it and runs it live on a real initiative across six sessions in 12 weeks, so your team builds the system while moving the work forward.
What measurable return can we expect from execution coaching?
Returns track to the initiative you choose. Commonwealth Bank used the Flawless Execution methodology to cut its technology run cost from $3.6B to $2.4B, a 33% reduction worth $1.2B. The coaching is anchored to a real business outcome, not an abstract curriculum.
How is execution coaching different from standard leadership training?
Standard training teaches a framework off to the side and hopes it transfers. This coaching runs on your live initiative, so the work is the curriculum. Your team learns FLEX by using it, with a review discipline that turns every result into the next improvement.
How do you prove the coaching is working during the engagement?
Progress is visible in the initiative itself and in the session record. VMware rolled the Flawless Execution methodology out to 330 senior executives and scaled it through its Flex Champions program; over the first three years its share price nearly doubled. You see movement, not theory.
How is behavior change measured and made to stick?
The debrief is the engine. Every session converts results into a specific, owned action, so change is documented rather than assumed. Over 30 years Afterburner has trained 2.2 million leaders this way, building habits that hold after the engagement ends.
Does this pull my team off the work or add load?
No. The coaching runs on the initiative your team already owns, so it replaces unfocused effort rather than adding a project. Six sessions over 12 weeks, with an intact team of 5 to 15, structured around work you already need to deliver.
Does this work for a regulated or complex enterprise?
Yes. The approach scales across complex, regulated organizations. Commonwealth Bank applied Flawless Execution across its enterprise technology organization with strict review protocols, including with external suppliers. 85% of Afterburner’s clients are Fortune 500 companies.
Can the system roll out beyond the coached team?
Yes. Teams that complete the coaching share a common execution language and the habit of learning from every result, which spreads across functions. For a full cohort rollout, the coaching combines with the Flawless Leadership Program in the 90-Day Accelerator.
